Filipinos have a great sense of humor. Filipinos have enough fighting spirits to overcome whatever situations they encounter. They have time to laugh and share the laughter to everyone. That’s why Philippines is considered as one of the happiest places on earth.

Since the start of the millennium, the power of the mobile phone (cell phone) has become increasingly evident. In the past decade it has become an inseparable part of everyday life all over the world and its sphere of penetration continues to grow.

Nowadays, Filipinos especially youth try to effectively communicate humor via texting or text messing. Technology that is through the use of cellphone became a channel or intrument for humor. Text messaging or short message service (sms) is not only limited in cellphone. Internet also offers free sms so dissemination of funny sms jokes is widespread nowadays.

Humor as part of Filipino culture is still preserved even in the midst of modernization. As a matter of fact, text jokes can have an in-depth view because aside from humor that it contain, it can also include propaganda that can move people and reflect the social condition of our contemporary society.
